Duty Manager - Front of House Operations (Events / Arts / Theatre)

This is a Permanent, Full Time vacancy that will close in {x} days at {xx:xx} BST.

An opportunity has arisen in our Operations and Front of House department for a Duty Manager who will be responsible for maintaining the buildings, responding to and resolving issues and incidents promptly and effectively.

You will also be responsible for supervising the day-to-day operations which includes leading on evacuations as senior Fire Warden & First Aider, opening and locking up the buildings each morning and night and performing regular building checks.

 

In this role you will need to:

  • Liaison with student stage managers for the smooth running of RADA Productions.
  • Producing RADA Production information and seating signs following RADA Marketing procedures.
  • Allocating duties and briefing to ushers for events they are working, ensuring they are fully aware of fire evacuation procedures.
  • Liaising with the Box Office Manager & Customer Operation Assistants with audience & performance information.

 

What are we looking for?

You will be a customer-focused member of the Operations and Front of House team, with the ability to interact with a wide variety of people along with the following:

  • Relevant qualifications within First Aid.
  • A qualified Fire Warden.
  • Experience in Front of House duties within a theatre & or education setting.
  • A proven record of delivering high quality customer care.
  • Excellent IT, communication and presentations skills.
  • Good knowledge of Arts Administration/ Theatre Industry.
  • Strong reporting skills.
  • The ability to manage data protection legislation and GDPR regulations regarding protecting personal data.

 

The successful candidate will ensure the smooth running of shows, events, classes, workshops and hires at all times and ensure that all spaces are appropriately set up and fit for purpose to agreed room standard.

 

The shifts are on a rolling rota - 5 days a week including:

  • Mornings (from 8am)
  • Evenings (to 11pm)
  • Weekends (Saturdays can be a longer shift with core hours been 7:30am - 12:30pm)

Monday-Sunday (paid an extra 0.5 for working Sundays)

 

Hours outside of core opening will be paid as overtime, hours extra within core hours as toil.
